New Jersey Child Adoption Law N.J.S.A. 9:3-39 1[b]
"We were not obligated to search for the birth father."
The sub-title of this article, absurd as it sounds, actually is a correct acertation of the mentioned State statute. This asinine New Jersey standard of law actually allows obstruction of justice and outright attorney deceit.
"The Complete Book on Wrongful Adoption", subtitle, "The Disgracing of Children of the World, a Rosie O'Donnell Funded Agency" is a book that proves the above written statements. The core of this story entails the corruption of Children of theWorld Adoption Agency Inc. out of Verona, New Jersey and its executive director Veronica Serio.
Detailed are all aspects of the adoption triad of which, include the adoption agency/adoption attorney, birth parents and adoptive parents. This is a true story rife with State induced deception, adoption agency subterfuge and adoption attorney lies.
The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics
A branch of the
State Supreme Court
"Your grievance, even if true would not constitute attorney unethical misconduct or incapacity." New Jersey Court Rule 1:20-3[e] [3] This law with these words were issued by a branch office of New Jersey's highest court after it is proved that an attorney lied to this office in issued statements for his defense. Is it any wonder why the State that is New Jersey is the brunt of late night talk show jokes? [More to come]
The New Jersey Department of Human Services
Pick up any newspaper that lines the shelves of any garage in New Jersey and you will find evidence of its presence in the day to day world of the Department of Human Services [DHS]. "It" is incompetence, and it runs rampant throughout the entire department long before the days of James Davey, one of the Commissioners on the DHS "Wall of Shame".
Children of the World Adoption Agency's [COW] executive director Veronica Serio is the main party involved in the corruption that led to the closure of this agency. Despite all the evidence compiled against this woman, the board of directors all stood by her side until the company dissolved. Mrs. Serio a proved liar, actually assisted the highly renowned Seton Hall Professor James Boskey write New Jersey adoption law. [Horrible as it is] That withstanding, she has thirty-five years of experience she in a field which I now believe was her Baby-Trader business.
That said, there is reason for mentioning the above information about Mrs. Serio under this DHS heading. It is because the DHS did everything in their power to help this woman from losing her job. In a DHS investigation of COW concerning a wrongful adoption complaint, this woman's "story" was never verified nor was she ever cross-examined.
Moreover, violations that would of led to the exposure of wrongful adoption practices went un-cited. In fact, during the investigation interview DHS agents referred to her throughout it's length as "Ronny". Nice to have friends in high places? [More to come]
The "Jersey" Rules
These rules apply only to the New Jersey Adoption Attorney. It seems that that the state Supreme Court has granted these attorneys divine right when it comes to making life-changing decisions of newborn children. This is so, even if it comes to lying to a Supreme Court's Office of Attorney Ethics. In one case the court determined that an attorney who proved to be lying on certain aspects of wrongful adoption testimony was within his rights. The Ethics panel stated in letter, "your grievance even if true would not constitute ethical misconduct or incapacity".
Steven I. Sklar is an adoption attorney from Kendall Park, New Jersey. He is the attorney who helped the actress Rosie O'Donnell obtain her adopted children. This man is also the one reffered in the above paragraph. In another aspect of the same case again he told the Supreme court a lie, only this time the case was already closed. He had told them that the knowledge of a birthfather was not expressed to him until two years after the placement of a child. It was found out that he knew the birthfather's name, hometown and the ways and means of contact.
It was proven, that within days after the placement the birthmother's hometown Obsterician, Dr. Barbara Vall-Spinosa placed a phone call to Mr. Sklar and discussed this information with him. The good doctor obviously did this to thwart an obvious fraud.
I am sure that she gave him medical records that contained important information concerning the birtrhfather's debilitating disease that the child's peditrician would find highly important. These acts of non-disclosure by greedy adoption attorneys are welcomed by the state statute N.J.S.A. 9:3-39 1[b]. The state of New Jersey has regressed ninety years in adoption ethics. All that is written on this subject can be verified by the New Jersey Open Public Records Act.
